Sustainable design is a core value at Vanderweil. Our 1993 design for the 1,000,000 sf Environmental Protection Agency’s lab facility at Research Triangle Park was the forerunner of the LEED program, but we didn’t stop there. Our projects have continued to focus on advancing the science of sustainable solutions by integrating engineering and architectural systems, using high performance envelopes and mechanical systems, applying the latest modeling techniques to inform design, and using the latest technology, including Revit, to develop our work product. Almost half the greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to buildings, and we are committed to doing something about it!
