Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA, PMI, PPM, CTS a plus
  • RCDD Certification a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design, engineering, or support role in a Technology, Security and AV systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT infrastructure elements such as Structured Cabling, Networks, (LAN, WAN), telecommunications, server platforms, and storage devices.  Similar experience in Security and AV systems.
  • Factory and field training on major brands of AV systems and components is required
  • Demonstrated project management ability and experience
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, layout, planning, design and operations
  • Experienced in developing and delivering client/project and business development presentations
  • Able to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally to all levels of management within the client and project teams, including both technical and non-technical resources
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated history of client relationship management and new business development
  • Proficient in the use of productivity software such as MS Office, Newforma, and similar applications
  • History of excellent attendance and punctuality

Position Summary:

Engineer/Designer participates in business development and project management relationships, coordinating project production activities, and interfacing with contractors, vendors, and system integrators.  Perform day-to-day management of all phases of projects including requirements gathering, design, document development, construction management and close-out.  Create and manage project schedules, plans, resource requirements, and documentation. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and actively develop team members and design staff
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessment and discovery processes with clients at outset of engagement, create the basis of design.  Review and coordinate with  internal and external project resources
  • Create and manage project plans, communications, resource requirements, project costs and  project management related documentation
  • Develop and review estimating assumptions for the project’s schedule, effort, and cost using established best practices and past experience
  • Manage project relationships and coordinate work between client resources, contractors, vendors, and system integrators
  • Lead project quality assurance activities
  • Review and manage changes to project tasks through a formally defined scope change process, internally and externally
  • Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget
  • Document and communicate progress against plans and schedules, taking corrective action and escalating, as necessary
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Take an active role in process documentation and improvement
