Regional branch office has an immediate opportunity for a degreed and preferably licensed (PE) engineer to be a project engineer in Vanderweil’s Atlanta office location.  Will interact closely with architects, developers, and building owners on various commercial, life science and healthcare building projects.  Successful candidate needs to have knowledge and experience with project planning, system options analysis, and subsequent construction document preparation and construction administration oversight.  Regional (Greater Atlanta) experience strongly desired.  Should have (10) ten years engineering experience with exposure to all aspects of Mechanical/HVAC engineering for renovation and new construction.  Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Revit is also required.

This experienced Structural Designer will support engineers as the Revit resource for Vanderweil's power generation projects.  Should have experience in structural design and be familiar with coordination of models.  Will initiate new Revit models, including levels, schedules, work sharing, linked models, custom parameters and custom Revit families.

Will assist in generating comprehensive plans, elevations and details from Revit models and coordinate with other disciplines.  Will be responsible for QA and QC of their own drawings and will lead the efforts for maintenance and updates of the database, catalogues and drawings.  Should have 2-4 years experience in drafting for a Structural engineering firm or an Architectural firm.  BS or Bachelors in Architecture preferred, proficiency in Revit or Autocad and some exposure to Navisworks is preferred.

Position Summary: 

Security systems designers are to act as project managers for security projects.  Designers will meet with clients to develop requirements based on customer input and needs in the areas of access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit TV.   Designers will then research equipment, create estimates, create schedules, and provide milestones and status reports.  Designers will then design, specify, plan security systems based on those clients needs. 

     

    We are seeking an Administrative Assistant based in the Boston office with A/E/C experience to provide support services to various levels of engineering staff. Primary responsibilities will include:

     Project/Business Development Administrative Tasks:

    o Technical word processing for engineering specifications, BOD’s, and reports

    o Word processing and file maintenance for proposals and project correspondence

    o Logistical responsibility for organizing and scheduling meetings with multiple people

    o Processing subscription renewals for media or organization memberships

    o Arranging program/seminar registrations

    o Maintaining files/documentation control for both network and cabinet folders

    o Fulfilling reprographic tasks including copying, scanning, printing, binding, faxing

    o Handling miscellaneous administrative tasks as required

     Must possess strong interpersonal skills, work well in a team environment, and be capable of working independently with self-initiative and motivation. Must have excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to follow up, be very detail-oriented, flexible, and able to prioritize and handle multiple, deadline-driven tasks efficiently.

     Must have Advanced MS Office Word 2010 or higher skills using Styles and Codes. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Deltek Vision, MasterWorks, and NewForma is desired.

     The ideal candidate must have an Associate’s degree or higher with a minimum of 2-3 years prior experience in administrative support services in the A/E/C industry.

    High Performance Building Energy Analyst

    Overview: High Performance Building Energy Analyst

    We are looking for an Energy Analyst to support high performance building energy analysis across Vanderweil’s national and international project portfolio for academic, healthcare and commercial buildings. This position will be located in the Boston office and offer advancement and growth potential for the right individual.   

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in the following areas: 

    • Identify energy savings opportunities / energy conservation measures (ECMS)
    • Evaluate Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing system design and controls, particularly high performance design and construction
    • Analyze, interpret or create energy data using engineer software - eQuest, Cradle, Ecotect, Trane TRACE, EnergyPlus, IES, Sefaria
    • Perform and document energy analysis for project certifications (i.e. LEED, LBC, WELL, etc)
    • Perform Life-Cycle Cost Analyses
    • Perform Existing Building Energy Audits, Energy Master Planning, NZE/E+ Modeling

    Preferred additional experience:

    • Daylight analysis and simulation
    • CFD analysis
    • 3D modeling software (CAD, Sketchup, or Revit)
    • Indoor environmental design approach - IAQ, thermal comfort, daylight
     

    Qualifications 

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Architectural Engineering or related discipline
    • Willing and able to rapidly learn new modeling platforms
    • Strong communication and technical writing skills required
    • Ability to assume ownership of and provide leadership for significant projects, possibly in a client-facing role
    • Willing and eager to work on a variety of energy-related models and analyses
    • Knowledge of relevant building energy codes, green building rating systems, and ASHRAE standards
    • 2-3 years of previous Industry Energy Modeling experience preferred

    The Business Applications Manager will actively work with both internal and external resources to develop and integrate the enterprise application and business workflow environment at Vanderweil Engineers. The role requires the strong understanding of applications such as SharePoint, BST, Newforma and Microsoft Cloud Offerings as well as SQL Database administration & management. The role also requires you to work well with business leaders to learn what the business needs and work with the IT team to deliver that.

      Green Building Project Specialist

      The Green Building Project Specialist will be an integral member of Vanderweil’s Sustainability team, responsible for supporting projects of varying size and complexity. The Green Building Project Specialist is responsible for supporting, organizing and controlling green building project activities, under the direction of the Project Leaders. 

      In this role, the Green Building Project Specialist will ensure that projects have the tools, resources, and strategies to maximize efficiency and achieve the highest level of sustainability. 

      Responsibilities:

      • Applies best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects and ensures consistent practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle.
      • Leads activities such as scheduling project status update meetings with project teams and be responsible to gather information and prepare meeting minutes and schedule updates.
      • Responsible to take input from a cross functional project teams to develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and execute a high quality, integrated cross-functional plan for projects.
      • Use defined project management practices and procedures to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity.
      • Assists sustainability team and project lead in strategic meetings and follow up.
      • Manage the planning and execution of in-house product development projects while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements.
      • Facilitate innovative solutions and creative problem solving between groups and individuals.

      Qualifications:
