University of Pennsylvania, Energy Audit
The University of Pennsylvania integrates sustainability into all areas of academics through their Climate Action Plan. In regards to conserving energy, they aim to implement a strategic plan that establishes energy conservation programs and accelerates investments and renovations to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings. They plan to meet their energy saving goals by identifying energy conservation measures through energy audits/retro-commissioning services and by the implementation of financially feasible measures to increase operating efficiencies. This project focused on five campus buildings that were built between 1904 and 1987. These buildings collectively provide laboratory and research, student housing, and administration offices. The energy audit work involved ASHRAE Levels 1 and 2, including building modeling.
