Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, New Chemistry & Chemical Biology Building, Piscataway, NJ
The new 140,000 sf building is adjacent to the existing Chemistry & Chemical Biology Complex known as Wright Chemistry. This project replaces components of its existing facility and brings a state-of-the-art facility to house the Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and several multidisciplinary research centers and institutes associated with the department. The building provides laboratory, teaching, lecture hall, and collaboration space that enables Rutgers’ internationally recognized faculty to expand and accelerate groundbreaking research in drug design, alternative energy, biomaterials, nanotechnology, and molecular engineering. The building will be energy efficient, sustainable, and reconfigurable. The project is designed for LEED Silver®.
