U.S. Department of Agriculture, Phase 1 APHIS Laboratory
The new single story 68,000 gsf lab facility houses approximately 12,000 nsf BSL-2 and 4,000 nsf of BSL-3 lab space which is used for testing of anthrax and other dangerous bacterial pathogens. The remaining space consists of laboratories, lab support, and office space built to meet the needs of an ever changing workspace, with all lab areas being designed to allow maximum flexibility for any necessary lab modifications without disrupting daily activities. Each system was designed and developed to address safety, comfort and convenience of the building occupants in supports of the specific research being conducted. Temporary central utility plant supports this building in the interim until the future campus utility plant is up and running.
