Engineering Healthy Campus Buildings Post-Covid

Recently, there has been significant consideration of the impacts of Covid-19 on the design of future engineering systems for campus buildings. This session will review healthy building considerations, reviewing six air systems considerations: air filtration, air exchange / fresh air rates, humidity control, pressurization, UV light, and air quality monitoring. The presenters will consider ASHRAE requirements and how to utilize the new ASHRAE 62 tool. Strategies for addressing temporary and permanent improvements to the air quality within buildings will be discussed. Ways of addressing air quality issues in both new and existing building systems will be addressed. The presenters will utilize recent case studies to demonstrate applications for the proposed considerations.
