This new 270,000 sf office building houses office functions and mission critical functions for the National Weather Service and other NOAA functions. Program includes over 80,000 sf of mission critical space including data centers and office space provided with N+1 redundant MEP systems. The design includes an atrium smoke exhaust system, 5 MW of backup generator capacity and is designed for LEED Silver^® certification. This project was awarded Engineering News-Record (ENR) Best Government/Public Building Project, Mid-Atlantic Region, 2012.
