New York Presbyterian Hospital
Vanderweil was obtained by New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) to provide Retro-commissioning (RCx) services in support of their RCx initiative to address comfort, operational improvements, indoor environmental quality and overall energy reduction of all HVAC systems, plumbing and water pumping systems, electrical and lighting components, and building automation systems. The RCx program focuses on the three primary patient care buildings at NYP, in addition to the central utility plants that support them. Savings are realized through the systematic evaluation of building systems and implementation of low-cost/no-cost measures and capital improvements targeted to reduce demand and energy. Services provided consisted of a Level 2 energy audit as defined by ASHRAE guidelines 0-2005. The retro-commissioning of systems identified are per the BCA Best Practices in Commissioning Existing Buildings.
